Born in Granville Centre, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Munroe) Gilliatt. A graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College, she taught school for a number of years. She was predeceased by a brother, Robie. The body as at the BD Hatfield Home. Funeral was Monday in Granville Centre United Baptist Church, Reverend HS Hartlin officiating. Burial was in Wadeville Cemetery. She taught school in this area for a number of years before going to the USA where she taught at Brandice [sic] College, Waltham, Mass. for 25 years. She retired in 1972. She also has a brother, Carroll Gilliatt of Granville Centre. When she retired she returned to Granville Centre to make her home.
