  • Obituary: Bartlett, Gordon O. - 100, Truro, passed away with his daughters Marie and Bonnie at his side in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on Saturday March 9, 2013. A life long resident of Truro he was the son of the late David and Stella (Connolly) Bartlett. Gordon worked as a brakeman with C.N.R. for 32 years, retiring at age 63. He spent his retirement years, salmon fishing, camping, golfing and was an avid bowler until age 96. He enjoyed playing with his six grandchildren and in the last years his eighteen great grandchildren. He was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Truro for over 80 years. Gordon is survived by daughters, Marie Barker, Halifax and Bonnie Bartlett of St. Catharines, ON; sister, Margie Medynski, Halifax; brother, David (Barb), Hilden. He was predeceased by his wife of seventy years, Gladys (Langille); brothers, Viril and Raymond; sister, Florence Bie and step-mother, Margaret (Bryson). Gordon is resting in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, where visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 with Pastor Jacquie Ross officiating.
