She was a daughter of the late Viola and Hector Semple of Brule, Colchester Co. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Colin Brenton; son, Jeffrey (Donna); daughter-in-law, Nancy Brenton; sister, Jessie MacKay; her loving grandchildren, Michelle (Matt), Amanda (Christian), Kaitlyn (Nate) and Connor, as well as five great grandchildren, Maddison, Aiden, Avery, Marshall and Eli. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Ronald Brenton and brothers, George and Jim Semple. Hazel had an amazing curiosity that lead her to many loves in life. From showing horses and ponies to her artistic endeavours in creating beautiful leather, painted, quilted or sewn treasures. She also provided expert care and took great pride in her flower gardens which were beautifully displayed at the family homestead in Princeport. She was a loving, generous and family oriented woman who will be missed dearly. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 2pm in Old Barns Cemetery with Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. We ask that Covid-19 precautions be observed and that attendees wear a mask.
