  • Obituary: Sara J. Piddock Martin, 45, Stuart St., Watertown, wife of Robert J. Martin, Jr., passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 18th, in the intensive care unit of the Samaritan Medical Center where she was admitted Sunday, February 16th. The funeral mass will be 11 am Saturday, February 22nd at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Rt 3, Henderson with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Spring burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Adams, NY. Calling hours are Friday, February 21st from 2 pm ' 4 pm and 7 pm ' 9 pm at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Contributions may be made to an education fund for her children at Watertown Savings Bank, c/o Robert Martin, 111 Clinton St., Watertown, NY 13601. Sara was born in Watertown, June 4, 1968, a daughter to Eugene G. and Linda G. Sinclair Piddock. She was a graduate of South Jefferson High School where she was an active vocalist with the music department in the schools plays and musicals. She also was a member of the So. Jeff school's tennis team. Sara received her AAS degree from Jefferson Community College. Sara worked as a waitress in Henderson Harbor for many years before entering the property management field. She started as an assistant manager at the Huntington Heights Apartment Complex in Watertown, later forming a company GM Property Management, which she was co-owner of at the time of her passing. Sara was a licensed real estate broker. She was a member of the Jefferson Lewis Board of Realtors and the Watertown Eagles Club. She enjoyed camping, boating and spending time doing both with family and friends. Sara enjoyed supporting her husband Robert's racing endeavors at Can-Am and Evans Mills Raceways. Sara is survived by her husband Robert J., Jr., her daughter, Emily and son Jonathon, all of Watertown. Four step-sons, Travis Rivers, Texas; Ryan Martin, Watertown, SSGT Dustin Martin (USMC), California and Patrick Martin, Watertown. Her mother Linda Piddock, Watertown; her sister Elizabeth "Beth" (Robert) Hatch, Oneida; two brothers John (Wendy) Piddock, Kinderhook, NY and Lt. Col. Robert (Kathy) Piddock (USMC), Papillion, NE; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sara was predeceased by her father, retired Henderson Town Justice Eugene G. Piddock on July 3rd, 2007. Sara's family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit of the Samaritan Medical Center for the care and comfort given to them and Sara during these past few days.
