  • Obituary: Chapman, Clara Isabell \endash 90, Truro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 8, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, N.S. Born in Belmont, April 11, 1920, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was the daughter of the late Wesley and Myrtle (Teed) Weatherbee, and step-mother, Emily Whippe. Clara was an avid bingo player and also loved playing cards and listening to old time Country music. In her early years she enjoyed attending the local dances. She is survived by daughters, Ellen Smith, Bracebridge, On., Gayle (Doug) McClaren, Crowes Mills, Donna (Gerald) Rushton, and Debbie Chapman, both of Truro; son, Daniel, Truro; grandchildren, Danette (Laurie), Dale (Verna), Juanita (Bud), Krista (Kevin), Adrian, Twyla, Wade (Patti), Brad (Candice), Shayne (Amy), Shylo, Margaret Ellen, Jerry (Wendy); many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands, Jack Cooling and John Chapman; daughter, Beverly Axiaq; son, Gerald "Jud" Cooling; sisters, Jean Staples, Ethel McClary; brothers, Willard in infancy, Clifford, Earl, Bert. No visitation or service by her request. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
