Born in Lakeville on April 4, 1927 to Mary Augusta (Whitney) and Willis Stanley Illsley. She shared a devoted married life working alongside her husband, Lawrence, on the family farm. After retirement, she found joy in music jams, playing cards, and cherished visits from friends and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Edgar Porter and son, Willis; sisters, Marguerite (Foote) Marchant, Joyce (Richard) D'Entremont; grandson, Mark Porter and special friend, Watson Wilson. She is survived by her sons, Gerald (LaVerne), Dale and daughter, Connie (Irving) Fredericks; three granddaughters, Pam (Kevin) Sawler, Karen (Wayne) Comeau, Kelly (Kenny) Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Wayne Spidle and Nicole Weber, Colin and Ethan Comeau; Korey and Kendra Mansfield; 14 great great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma (Lloyd - deceased) Ward and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Greg White to officiate. A private family interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Donations in memory may be made to the activity fund of the Veterans Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
