Born December 18, 1934, in Wallace Ridge, he was a son of the late Simpson and Muriel (Smith) Langille. In earlier years, Hughie worked in the woods, fished, mined at Springhill Mine and later opened his own business, Langille's Meat Shop, Springhill. When he came to Truro, he drove for Layton's Taxi and was superintendent at various apartment buildings in Truro and Halifax. Upon returning to Hilden in the early 1990s, he raised a few head of cattle and was a member of Truro Stroke Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, runs on the side by side, horses and spending time at the camp in New Annan Mountain. He will be sadly missed by his K-9 companion, Maddie.
