  • Obituary: Julie Ann van der Slyk Born: January 07, 1952 Died: February 08, 2015 van der Slyk, Julie Ann '96 63, Malagash, passed away February 8, 2015 at home. Born in Pugwash, she was the daughter of the late Simpson and Muriel (Smith) Langille. She was a home maker and loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always willing to help people and had a kind heart, especially to all of her cats. Surviving are her husband, George; sons, John, Dartmouth; Leonard, at home; daughter, Kea (Cameron Kaupp), Malagash; grandchildren, Garrette and Ellysa; brothers, Charlie (Gladys), Malagash; James (Marilyn), Ontario; Kenneth (Patti) and Raymond, both of Truro; sister, Eileen Langille, Truro. She was predeceased by brothers, Hughie, Gordon, Chester and Roy in infancy; sister, Mae. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche and from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, Rev. Bill Martin officiating. Spring interment will be in Bayhead Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
