Notes

  • Marriage Notice: Christina May LANGILLE & William Howard WHITE September 11, 1912 - West River Station, Pictou County, Nova Scotia The residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Langille, at West River Station, was the recent scene of a very interesting and happy event on Wednesday evening, Sept. 11th at five o'clock, when their daughter, Christena May, was united in the sacred bonds of matrimony to William Howard White, of this place. The bride looked exceedingly well, gracefully gowned in cream satin ....., and as Miss Madge Archibald of Watervale, played the wedding march she entered the room leaning on the arm of her father and took her place behind the man of her choice. She was attended by her friend, Miss Williamson, of Truro, who wore gray satin. The groom was ably supported by Mr. Neil Matheson. The parlor was prettily decorated with potted plants and cut flowers, the entire background of the bridal party being autumn leaves, golden glow, cut flowers and plants, making a very pleasing picture as the young people took their vows. The ceremony was performed by their pastor, Rev. Mr. Burns, of Saltsprings. After hearty congratulations, a sumptuous supper was served to a large number of guests. Then music and dancing was engaged in, by those who felt inclined, for some time. The presents were numerous and very beautiful, testifying to the good wishes of the friends of both bride and groom. They went on a trip to Halifax, taking in the exhibition. The bride's going away dress was of blue broadcloth with cream corded silk trimmings with blue felt hat and large white plume. We wish the genial Billie and his fair young bride a long and happy wedded life. May their matrimonial sky remain forever unclouded. The outside guests who came to attend the nuptials were Mrs. Della McLean, Mrs. Leonard Stewart and ....
