Born in Daysland, Alberta, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Hilda (Giles) Langille. Ruth worked early as a teacher and then raised her family after which she managed Colchester Housing Authority for 13 years, retiring in 1990. She was a long-time member of St. David's United Church in Bible Hill where she was active with the UCW and quilting group. She also enjoyed being a member of the card club for over 50 years. She and her late husband, Art, enjoyed playing cards and traveling together, having enjoyed trips all across Canada, United States and even as far away as Holland, Hawaii and Spain. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, reading, listening to music and genealogy. Above all, family was most important and she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The annual trip to Ontario to visit family was a highlight for everyone, from the time they packed up the car until they returned home. Ruth is survived by her children, Paul (Lorna) Weatherby, Bible Hill; Wendy Bryan, Brule Shore; Jo-Ann Weatherby, Bible Hill; Chuck (Heather) Weatherby, Truro; grandchildren, Kelly Bryan (Matthew McLean), Timberlea; Joe (Rebecca) Turner, Brighton, Ontario; David (Ali) Bryan, Calgary, Alberta; Josie Turner (Craig Roberts), Kingston, Ontario; Tammie (Stewart) Riggs, Dartmouth; Jennifer Weatherby (Justin MacKay), Bible Hill; Charlie Weatherby, Truro; great grandchildren, Pippa, Hugo, Odessa, Colbi, Amelia, Jack, Nicola, Maddie, Ella, Odin, Finn, Lyla; brother, Don Langille, Truro. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Art; grandson, Adam Weatherby; daughter-in-law, Susan Weatherby; brothers, Ken Langille, Alan Langille.
