  • Obituary: FISHER, David Alfred - 63, Brookfield, passed away on September 24, 2004, in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Calvin and Ada (Fisher) Fisher. David was an adherent of Knox United Church, and was an employee and general superintendent of True Form Ltd. He was a past president of Brookfield Curling Club and Brookfield Men's Club. He was on the board of directors of Wegusegum, Chipman, New Brunswick, a member of Brookfield Fire Brigade, the Brookfield Athletic Association, and a former Brookfield Elk. David was a Past Master of Elm Lodge No. 115 AF and AM, Upper Stewiacke, a member of Keith Chapter No. 4 Royal Arch Masons of Nova Scotia, the Lion of Judah Council No. 19 Royal and Select Masters, the Malta Preceptory No. 27 Knights of Templar of Canada, the Cobequid Lodge U.D. Royal Ark Mariners, the Nova Scotia Conclave No. 6 Order of the Secret Moniter, a Past Patron of Elm Chapter No. 48 Order of the Easter Star, Upper Stewiacke, a member of Derry Lodge No. 25 Loyal Orange Lodge, and a member of Alexander MacIntosh No. 1275 Royal Black Preceptory. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Bruce Wilson; daughter, Katey (Paul) Chisholm, Truro; sons, James, Truro; P.J. (Tracey), Brookfield; granddaughters, Samantha, Natalie, Courtney, Hayley and Maggie; sister, Sharon Keizer, Brookfield, as well as several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by brother, James, in infancy. No visitation by request. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, from where an Order of the Eastern Star tribute, Elm Chapter No. 48 will be held this evening at 7 p.m., followed immediately by a Masonic tribute by Elm Lodge No. 115 AF and AM. A celebration of David's life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Knox United Church, Brookfield, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception and visitation to follow the service. Interment will be in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre, or Colchester Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
