  • Obituary: FISHER, Ada Jane - 84, Brookfield, passed away September 1, 2003, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Newton Mills, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys (Power) Fisher. Ada was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies Circle. She was a member of the All Around the Circle Senior Citizens Group and was an avid bowler with Brookfield Bowling League and the Senior League in Truro. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Keizer, Brookfield; son, David (Mary-Bruce),Brookfield; brother, Wallace (Mary), Riverview, N.B.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Calvin (June 15th of this year); son, James in infancy; sister, Mabel Gallin; brother, Aubrey; son-in-law, Donald Keizer. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 4, memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Larry Harrison and Pastor Adam MacGregor officiating. Private family burial in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester Regional Hospital.
