Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of Margaret (Baltzer) Nixon, Berwick, and the late Spurgeon L. Nixon. She worked as a registered nurse at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Ottawa Civic Hospital, Belleville General Hospital and Scarborough General Hospital, specializing as an operating room nurse, retiring in 1992. She is survived by her husband, Frank; two brothers, Spurgeon Jr., Barrie, Ont.; Gordon, St. John's, Nfld.; eight sisters, Joan (Mrs. William Thornhill), Patricia (Mrs. Harold (Junior) Reid), Nancy (Mrs. Charles Arenburg), all of Berwick; Florence (Mrs. Grant Hiltz), Bridgewater; Janet (Mrs. Stann McGann), Ottawa; Judy Holleman, Waterville; Mary Sherman, Rexdale, Ont.; Linda (Mrs. Ronald Davidson), Somerset; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. September 28 in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, Rev. Gordon Walker officiating. Burial will be in Berwick Cemetery.
