  • Obituary: PALMER, Vernon Hanley - 85, Millville, Kings Co., died March 28, 1997, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Factorydale, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Edgar and Bessie (Ewing) Palmer. He had owned and operated his own mixed farm in Millville, retiring in 1977. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are son, Milton, Millville; daughter, Linda (Mrs. Chesley Shave), Dartmouth; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorna M. (Crocker); brother, Claude; sisters, Muriel Nichols, Hazel Lowder. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, Rev. Wayne Schurman officiating. Burial in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division; Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity.
