Louise was born March 16, 1922 in Lowell, Ma. to Mabel French Martin and Charles Granville Martin. She was a graduate of Northfield School ('39) and Boston University ('43). She worked as a bookkeeper for Frank GW McKittrick Co. and later as a tax professional and manager for H&R Block in Charlotte. In retirement Louise and her late husband enjoyed many RV travels before settling in their mountain home at Land Harbor in Newland, NC. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Vernon R McKittrick, in 1989 and her granddaughter, Kasey L McKittrick in 2010. Surviving are her children, son Dana C McKittrick and wife Vicki J McKittrick of Matthews, and daughter Paula M Korber of Kingwood, TX, her grandsons Kyle E McKittrick of Johnson City, TN and Bradley M Korber and wife, Kris Korber of Flower Mound, TX; and her great grandchildren Andrew, Megan, and Wesley Korber. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at Plantation Estates as well as Hospice for their excellent care. A celebration of Louise's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the main auditorium at Plantation Estates, 733 Plantation Estates Drive, Matthews, NC 28105. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
