Notes

  • Obituary: Armstrong - Died at Bloomington, Anna. Co., N.S. May 20, after a tedious illness, Odessa, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Armstrong, aged 15 years and 8 mos. Odessa was unusually bright and a promising girl. She held her "C" certificate and had entered upon the "B" work when she was taken ill. The Master had other plans for her. She became a pupil of Christ in her 11th year. On April 17th, 1904, the writer had the privilege of baptizing this young sister, and during that revival the entire family of Bro. Armstrong came into the church by baptism, four sons and two daughters, all of whom have remained steadfast. This young sister was a general favorite with her school teachers and associates. When the hour came for her departure she was perfectly conscious, calmly bidding each good bye with the request to meet her in Heaven. Her removal has made a sad and irreparable vacancy in the home, especially on account of the strong and tender family attachment. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor in the Nictaux church and were largely attended. Our sister leaves to mourn their loss a father and mother, four brothers, one sister and a large host of friends. "She is not dead but sleepeth." Maritime Baptist July 1,1908
