Terry grew up in the Pictou Road/Valley Crossroads area. He purchased his first dump truck at the age of 24 which was the start of growing his excavation business. TR Petroleum grew with the help and support of his wife of 40 years, Katherine. They were never very far apart as best friends should be and his presence in her life will be truly missed. TR Petroleum outgrew its original location on Vimy Road to Farnham Mill Road in 2005. We have always admired Terry's work ethic, which was instilled in his son, Brad (Monica Hunt), who shares his father's skill and passion for "digging in the dirt". Brad has worked alongside his father since the age of sixteen and in more recent years, took a leadership role to allow Terry to enjoy a semi-retirement. His oldest daughter, Laura (Edwin Reynolds), shared his quick wit and younger daughter, Alana, had a similar soul that enjoyed the simple life and the outdoors like her father. His five grandchildren, Olivia, Elle, Emily, Robbie and Abigail, who affectionately referred to him as "Grumpy" or "Bunkie", lit up his life and we are so thankful to have the wonderful memories with him. Terry loved the outdoors and grew up hunting and fishing. We want to acknowledge his fishing buddy of over 50 years, Mr. Steve Faulkner, who will now be able to catch the biggest fish. His camp buddies, Ken MacAulay, Rob MacPherson and Brad Olender, who faithfully spent seven long, long weekends with him during deer hunting season in Riversdale. Terry is survived by siblings, Glenn Weatherbee, Irma McCallum and Faye Lennerton and countless family and friends. To anyone who shared a story, laugh or drink of rum - we appreciate you. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Donations can be made in Terry's name to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 (Truro). Sources Funeral Home: Colchester Community Funeral Home Truro,NS Obituary March 2024 Images Terrance Weatherbee
