Born in Gross Pte., Mich., he was a son of the late Laurie and Thelma (Dort) Dalrymple. He was a resident of Dartmouth for most of his life, where he was a member of Woodlawn United Church; Dartmouth Esso Annuities Club and an honorary member of MicMac AAC. He was employed with Imperial Oil Ltd. for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He then worked with Whites Security at the main branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia on Hollis Street, Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Christina Matherson; two sons, Paul, Robby, both of Dartmouth; two sisters, Betty (Mrs. R. Feltmate), Carol (Mrs. D. Henderson), both of Kingston; brother, Wayne, Maitland; several nieces and nephews; two granddaughters, Emily, Kate. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland Street, Dartmouth, Rev. Dianne Hill officiating. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only.
