Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John and Pearl Dalrymple. Shirley was a Past Matron of Kwebec Chapter 27, Order of the Eastern Star, and a Past Grand Representative of North Dakota in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island O.E.S. She was a member of South End Baptist Church and a Dominion Life and Provincial member of the Women's Missionary Society. She retired from GMAC in 1988 and worked for APSEA for many years as a volunteer. Surviving her are sister-in-law, Lorraine Dalrymple, Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence James; and her brothers, Roy, Russell, Laurie; and sister, Ruth Howlett. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in South End Baptist Church on Monday, May 28th, at 11 a.m., Rev. Michael Vlahos officiating, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Burial will follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens immediately following the reception. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
