She had been a librarian for the Baltimore County school system in Maryland and at the Boston Public Library. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. John Auer at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3101 Poinsettia Drive. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Johnston was born Aug. 18, 1909, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Nathaniel Alexander and Mary (Robertson) Ross. She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1960. Mrs. Johnston received her bachelor's degree from Emmanuel College, Boston, and attended Towson State University in Maryland. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the American Association of University Women. She was married June 18, 1946, in Boston, to Gerald F. Johnston, who survives.
