  • Obituary: TULLY, Ralph Richardson "Bud" - 82. It is with great sadness that we announce Ralph's passing on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. He was a son of the late Ralph and Kathleen (Mountain) Tully. As a young man, Ralph enjoyed playing football and hockey. He became a well-known goalie for St. Mary's College. He also was a member of St. Patrick's Social Club. For many years, Ralph worked with his father at Tully Brothers Jewelers and then at Simpsons in the electronics department. He enjoyed being with his family and was a devoted grandfather to his two grandsons. After developing Alzheimer's disease, Ralph spent the last 15 months in Glades Lodge. The family wishes to thank the staff for their love and compassionate care. We also wish to thank the staff on 8.2 and the wonderful hospital chaplains for their kindness and support during the last week. Ralph will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie (Britton); daughter, Debbie Melvin and son-in-law Pat Melvin; grandsons, Daniel and Matthew Melvin; many nieces and nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Spryfield (477-5601). A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 7, in St. Michael's Church, 14 St. Michael's Ave., with Father Brian Christie officiating, reception to follow in the church hall. Interment of ashes will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
