  • Obituary: Nina Mae Chapman, 72, of Richmond, Cumberland County, passed away October 26, 2016 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro surrounded by her family. Born in Richmond, July 31, 1944 in the home she resided all her life, she was the daughter of the late Martin W. and Nancy M. (Joudrie) Halverson. Nina worked for more than thirty years at Oxford Frozen Foods. She liked to play bingo, go to card parties but, her greatest joy was her granddaughters and great granddaughters, whom she call "her girls". Surviving are, her husband, Albert L. Chapman; sons, Kevin (Cindy), Malagash; Steven (Cathy Veno), Tatamagouche; granddaughters, Sonya Chapman, Brittany Chapman-Veno and Haley Chapman-Veno; great granddaughters, Leah and Paige; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Leslie; brothers, Gerald Halverson and Clarence Joudrie; sister, Eileen Millett. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter's Funeral Home (902-657-3288) P.O. Box 190, Tatamagouche, B0K 1V0. No visitation by request. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 31 in Monument Hill Cemetery on the Wallace Highlands Road in Richmond. Family flowers only. Memorial donations can be made in care of the funeral home to the Nova Scotia Heart and stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
