Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Cecil John and Edith Florence (Schwartz) Havill. She was educated in Halifax and lived in Amherst for a brief time before moving to New Glasgow with her husband. She was a member of Trinity United Church; the New Glasgow Gyrette Club; and the Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary. She was a former member of the I.O.D.E. and the Abercrombie Golf and Curling Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Carol Peck (Gary Barkley), Dartmouth; John (Lillian), Quispamsis, NB; Marilyn Vann, Dartmouth; Stephen (Anne), Three Brooks; grandchildren: Jennifer (Cory) Sanford; Jillian Peck (Guillo Espinosa); Stephanie (Steven) Gould; Delaney Vann; Nicholas Mingo; great grandchildren: Lucas and Lauren Sanford; Joaquin Espinosa; former son-in-law Warren Peck. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Mingo, brother Cecil John Havill, son-in-law Michael Vann. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service 1 pm Monday in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow with Bonnie Fraser officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
