  • Obituary: Parrsboro Record, Tuesday, February 15, 1966 The death of Ethel Blanche Phinney occurred at her home on Lamb's Hill, Parrsboro, on February 8 at the age of 70 years. She had been in ill health for about a year. Born in Five Islands, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Phinney. She was predeceased by her husband, William. She is survived by two daughters, Viola, of Parrsboro; and Pearl (Mrs. Stephen Comeau), of Joggins; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Roy, Saint John; a sister, Barbara (Mrs. William Shipley, Miami, Florida. Two sisters and one brother predeceased her. She was a member of the Anglican Church. She was well known in the community for she had worked for many people during her lifetime. The funeral service was held on Friday from Smith's Funeral Chapel at 2:30 , with Rev. Edward Tuck officiating. The choir of the church sang: "Abide With Me" and "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth". Pallbearers were: Onslow Legere, Earl Smith, Eddie Sellons, Stephen O'Regan, Lewis Hebb and Norman Phinney. Interment was made in the United Church Cemetery.
