Hawkes of South Weymouth, a licensed home inspector and a petty officer in the Navy Reserve, died on Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital while active in the Navy Reserve. He was 30. Born in South Weymouth, Mr. Hawkes was a lifelong resident. He was a 1990 Weymouth South High School graduate. He went on to attend Northeastern University. He was a petty officer and for two months, a builder 2nd class for the U.S. Naval Reserve. A licensed home inspector, Mr. Hawkes worked at Tiger Home Inspection in Braintree for five years, and at Imperial Home Inspection Services in Braintree for two years. He had worked at Bertucci's Restaurant in Braintree and in Quincy for three years. He was a past member of DeMolay in Weymouth, and past member of the old South Union Congregational Youth Group. He had also been a past member of various rock 'n' roll groups on the South Shore. He enjoyed playing hockey. Mr. Hawkes is survived by his parents, Theodore R. and Diane (Berio) of South Weymouth; a twin sister, Nancy of South Weymouth; two half-brothers, Jonathon of New York and Jeffrey of Australia; his grandfather, Alvin LaPlant of South Weymouth; several aunts and uncles; and his girlfriend, Kristen Dillon of Kingston. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Old South Union Congregational Church, South Weymouth. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
