Married on 1973 in Hyannis, Barnstable Co., MA Children BOND, Jeanette L.: 1964 BOND, Edward Jackson: 1966 Notes Obituary: Sandra Rogean "Sandy" Bond Jensen Beach, FL and Hyannis, MA - Sandra Rogean Bond (Sandy) 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022 at McCarthy Care Center after a protracted illness. Born March 6, 1945 in Medford, MA she was the second of three daughters born to the late Edward Jackson Rogean and the late Erma Inez Skinner of Norwell, MA and Hyannis, MA. She is survived by her two sisters Carolyn O'Donnell of Wellesley, MA and Hyannisport, MA and Marcia Raftery of Centerville, MA. She is also survived by her husband who has been her best friend and loving companion for over half a century, Edward N. Bond, of Jensen Beach, FL and Hyannis, MA, her daughter, Jeanette L. Bond of Magnolia, TX, and her son, Edward J. Bond of Highlands Ranch, CO. Two surviving granddaughters, Taryn Leigh Bond and Carly Rae Bond, are both in Highlands Ranch, CO. Sandy spent much of her childhood in CT, graduating from Bloomfield High School where he father was Superintendent. His work allowed the family to spend their summer on Cape Cod and Sandy developed a love for the ocean that continued throughout her life. Boating, swimming, fishing, and sailing were her passions. In her teens she could be spotted sailing her pink Beetle Cat named "Puff" every day. She and her family are lifelong members of the Hyannis Yacht Club. Sandy married Ed, a former Naval Officer, in 1973 in the Congregational Church in Hyannis, where Ed's great -grandfather had been a founding member. They promptly moved to Seattle, WA where Ed was employed by The Boeing Company as an engineer and Test Pilot. Sandy expanded her interest in coaching kids by taking over a girls' basketball team. She was also an officer in a women's bowling league and took golf lessons to improve her budding golf game. Golf satisfied her competitive spirit, but what she really loved was the companionship of the game and the beautiful venues. Boeing transferred Ed and Sandy to their Washington, DC office in 1978 where he became Corporate Vice President and Chief Lobbyist. This required Sandy to work tens of hours per week with Congressional members and staff in multiple functions. Her gregarious personality and keen interest in the workings of the government made her a popular member of the Washington establishment. She continued coaching and, in addition, played in the Women's Soccer League in Arlington, VA. She was selected as the first girls' Varsity soccer coach at Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA. She played golf and was a member of the Washington Golf and Country Club and Avenel Golf Club in Potomac, MD. Ed was transferred in 1992 to Boeing's Helicopter manufacturing plant in Philadelphia, PA as head of Engineering Test and Flight Test. Sandy and Ed lived in Bryn Mawr, PA until Ed retired early due to Sandy's health in 1999. They moved to Eagle Marsh Country Club in Jensen Beach, FL. Sandy was a member of the Eagle Marsh Golf Club and Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, FL. She loved playing "mixed" golf with Ed because he was so liberal with the word "gimme". They continued to spend every summer on Cape Cod, in Hyannis, where they are members of the Hyannisport Club and the Hyannis Yacht Club. A private memorial service and burial will be scheduled for later in the summer. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Sandy's name be sent to: Tunnels2Towers.org .
