He was born on July 24, 1937 to George Andrew and Ruth Harriet (Kurfiss) Hoeffner in Salina, KS where he grew up and graduated from High School. Ed served his country in the US Navy. On January 27, 1959 he was united in marriage Patricia Mae LaPierre. After their marriage they lived on various military bases in the United States and in 1971 they settled in Edgerton, MO where they made their home. Ed retired from TWA as a mechanic in 1996. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Ed was a wonderful husband and father but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Carl Hoeffner, Herb Hoeffner; sister Margaret Kenndy; grandchildren Amanda Hoeffner, William James and Corey Hoeffner. Ed is survived by his wife Pat Hoeffner; children Sharon Knight and husband George, George Hoeffner and wife Janey, Dan Hoeffner and wife Sue, John Hoeffner, Heidi McKern and husband Dave; grandchildren Chris, Michelle, Tim, Dustin, Laura, Scott, Zach, Melea, James, Nathan, Ben, Abbey and Will; several great-grandchildren; twin brother Frank Hoeffner and wife Loretta; sister Marcella McMickell, and Carolee Mazurek; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service all at Frazier Baptist Church.
