Obituary: Higgins, Ellen R. Age 94, of Westford, MA, formerly of Chelmsford, Mass., a retired banking assistant manager, wife of the late Clarence A. Higgins Jr., died April 25, 2006, in Westford House Nursing Home in Westford.
Born and raised in Somerville, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William T. and Isabella M. (Horrell) Robbins, she received her education in the Somerville school system and was a graduate of Somerville High School.
As a young woman, she had been employed in the banking industry.
A longtime resident of the town of Chelmsford, she was a member of the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church and was active in its Ladies? group. She was also a member of the Chelmsford Senior Center and willing volunteer.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Cotran and her husband Rafic of Kennebunk, Maine and Venice, FL; one son, the Rev. Dr. Richard T. Higgins and his wife Dr. Nancy Tyler Higgins, of North Reading, MA.
Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Tracey Johnson, Carol Mancini, Stephen, Ronald and Jeffrey Cotran; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA.
