It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their loving mother on Monday, June 23, 2014, at home. Born in St. Anne-de-Kent, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Donat and Julie (Babineau) LeBlanc. Sally moved to Pugwash at a young age and worked at J.R. Allen's Lobster Factory, The Tides Inn Motel, Tupper Smith's Five & Ten Store and the East Cumberland Lodge from where she retired. She was a member of Wesley St. Matthew United Church and a former member of the Northumberland Golf and Country Club. She loved volunteering her time to work in the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, gardening, attending yard sales, reading and spending time with her family. Above all she was a loving and caring wife, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Surviving are her sons, Barry (Ronalda), Scott (Coleen), all of Pugwash; grandchildren, Dylan, Tanner, Mitchell and Nicole; great-grandson, Blayze; brothers, Roger (Noel Ange), Henri (Ginette); sisters, Viola Savoie, Amelia (John) Hinkel, Pauline (Mike) Langille, Maria (Raoul) Berthe, all of Kent County, N.B., Laura (Mel) Leibel, Calgary, Alberta.; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Smith; daughter, Debbie Gillis; grandson, Frank Gillis; brothers, Edgar, Sylvan and a brother in infancy. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in the Wesley St. Matthew united Church, Pugwash. Rev. Meggin King officiating with burial in MacDonald Cemetery, Gulf Shore. Reception to follow in the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to Wesley St. Matthew United Church, the MacDonald Cemetery or the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
