Obituary: August 7, 1939 - September 8, 2008
Menzies, David Albert - 69, East Hants, passed away September 8, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Tatamagouche, he was the son of the late Harold and Jessie Marion (Currie) Menzies. Dave will be forever missed by his loving family. In his younger years, he was a hockey coach, lacrosse coach and scout leader. Dad enjoyed spending time at the cottage with friends and family. He was an auto mechanic for over 50 years with various dealerships throughout Nova Scotia. Surviving is his loving wife, Sharon (Ripley) Menzies; daughter, Michelle (Jason Cannon) Menzies; sons, David (Muriel Jansen) Menzies and Paul (Lorri) Menzies; four grandchildren, Rob, Erin, Thomas and Peyton. Visitation will be held today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Coulter's Funeral Home (657-3288) 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche, NS, B0K 1V0. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11 in the funeral home, Pastor Michael Trites officiating. Interment will be in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche. Family flowers only. Donations in David's memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Cancer Treatment Centre at Victoria General Hospital. The family would like to thank Palliative Care and the VON nurses for their care and compassion given to David in his time of need.
