Obituary: LANGILLE, Everett William \emdash 69, of River John, passed away suddenly in Aberdeen Hospital on March 24, 2010, surrounded by his family. Born in Melville, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mabel (Baillie) Langille. He worked for Lindsay Construction in Halifax in his early years. He fished for many years, buying his own gear off Pictou Island in 1975. Everett loved all sports, especially his 'Leafs'. He was a dedicated member of the River John Fire Department for 30 years, serving as Captain for many of those years. He was a member of Salem United Church. Everett is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sheila (Langille) and sons, Steven (Jennifer), Pictou; Jason, River John; grand-daughters, Kyra, Jorja, Pictou; broth-ers, Donald (Betty), Ronald (Greta), Robert (Linda), Wayne (Sharon), all of River John; aunt, Helen Gunn, Brule; brother-in-law, Ian Reid, River John; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Elaine Reid; niece, Shelley Langille and nephew, Trevor Langille. Visitation will be in Salem United Church, River John, to-day from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 2 p.m. from Salem United Church with Rev. Dr. Kenneth MacLeod officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Sutherland. Interment to follow in Hamilton Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Memorial donations in Everett's memory may be made to River John Fire Department or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John.
