  • Obituary: ALAN A. BRYSON SR., 74, of East Avenue, a retired firefighter and emergency medical technician, died Monday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Marguerite (Scallin) Bryson, and the late E. Virginia (Hall) Bryson. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth A. (Newton) Bryson, he had lived in Seekonk since 1931. Mr. Bryson was one of the town of Seekonk's first permanent firefighters, and later became an EMT, retiring as lieutenant in 1985. He was a 50-year member of the Seekonk Congregational Church, a former member of the Netop Lodge of Masons, Seekonk, now the Eastern Star Lodge of Rehoboth, and a member of the Scottish Rite. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, two daughters, a stepson, two stepdaughters, a sister, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Andrew and John Bryson.
