Born in Truro, he was a son of Ronald K. McKinley and the late Geneva Beryl (Millard) McKinley. Randy was an avid golfer who loved family and friends. In his early years, music played an important role in his life and as a young adult he played with many local bands as a lead drummer. Randy was very talented in the field of electronics, operating a successful business, Keyboard Electronics, over the past decade in Truro. He is survived by his father, Ronald, and stepmother, Mona McKinley; sister, Susan (Michael) Gay, Bedford; brother, Daniel "Danny", Truro; stepsister, Debbie (Jim) Horwich, Bedford; stepbrother, Michael (Verna Caine) Bradley, Truro; niece, Krista MacRae and nephew, Brian Gay. He was predeceased by his sister, Karen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, from 7-9 p.m. with funeral service on Thursday, May 15, at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, with Rev. Gordon MacLean officiating. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
