  • Obituary: Robert L. Warner, 81, of Peggy Lane, Farmington, husband of the late Helen W. (Parylak) Warner, died suddenly Saturday (January 22, 2000), at his home. Born in Hartford, January 21, 1919, son of the late Lucius and Louise M. Warner, he resided in the Farmington and Unionville area for many years. Prior to retiring, he was the supervisor of the HVAC Dept. at the UCONN Health Center in Farmington. He was a distinguished U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He continued his Navy career, having served in the Naval Reserve for over 20 years as an Instructor, retiring from the service Jan. 21, 1979. He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Pauline W. and John S. Cichon of New Hartford, Barbara J. and Steven J. Geary of Unionville; two sisters, Shirley Place of Lantana, FL, and Jane Serba of Windsor; a brother, Burton Warner of Newington; four beloved grandchildren, Jason and Suzanne Cichon, and Robert and Laura Geary. Funeral services were held in The Ahern Funeral Home, Unionville, followed by burial, with full military honors, in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. The Hartford Courant Hartford,CT January 24, 2000
