Obituary: She was a member of the large and loving family of the late George and Flora (Jeffrey) Brittain.
Enid went to Halifax during the war and served the Army in a secretarial role. It was there that she met her husband of 60 years, Laurie, and they began their married life together. In 1961, the family moved to Moncton. Becoming a member of Mountain View Church in 1970, Enid joined the choir and continued her participation there for the next 45 years. Her volunteer work in the community included The Red Cross, YWCA, CNIB and The Moncton Hospital. Her husband Laurie passed away in 2007.
People often used the word 'remarkable' to describe Enid because of the way she held fast to her independence, her energy, her sense of humour, and her keen interest in new people and things - becoming larger in her life as time went on. She seemed somewhat mystified by the depth of love and admiration that she inspired although it came as a direct result of who she was and the way she lived her life.
