Laverty, 72, of Sandwich MA, beloved husband and father, died June 25th at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. Born in Lowell MA, he was the son of the late William E. and J. Louise Laverty. Brian graduated from Lowell High School and Northeastern University. He was an officer in the U. S. Air Force from 1966 to 1971, after which he became the Vice President of Finance at General Housewares Corporation in Hyannis MA. He went into business at Middleboro Fire Apparatus and later PolyMax Corporation. Brian and his family have resided in Sandwich MA since 1977. Brian is survived by Susan, his wife of 48 years, his son Stephen and his partner Briana Morey of Somerville, his sister Kathleen (Laverty) Burns and her husband Thomas of Chelmsford, his sister-in-law Maureen Sullivan of Tucson AZ, and his brother-in-law W. Michael Burke and his wife Robin of Wolfeboro NH. He also leaves three nephews, Michael Sullivan, David Burns and Brian Burns as well as three nieces, Marybeth Braeley, Mellissa Giegerich and Elisabeth Giegerich. Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD, on Wednesday, July 1st from 4 until 7 pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2nd at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford followed by burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
