Born in Bridgeport, November 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Kenneth Harvey and Dorothy (Dayton) Weed. A graduate of Bassick High School, Class of '51, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge during the Korean War. Following an honorable discharge, Roger joined the Stratford Fire Department and proudly served until his retirement in 1986. He was a lieutenant. He was an active member of VFW Post 9460. Roger and Fran moved to Cambridge in 2002. He enjoyed the quiet, country life and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Howard and his beloved grandson, John Alan Oliver. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Frances (Joyce) Weed of Cambridge; two daughters, Laura (Terry) Woodcock of Cambridge and Donna (William) Nemer of Arvada, Colo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Donald Howard. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, NY. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 10 at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. with burial following at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
