  • Obituary: CORBETT, Eula Jane - Of Flint, age 92, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 South Saginaw Street in Flint. After the ceremony the family will greet friends in the church Narthex. Burial was a private family gathering. Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Corbett Memorial Fund at Bendle School. Eula was born in Fisher, Pennsylvania on February 25, 1913, the daughter of Chester and Twila Rose (Spangler) Summerville. Eula grew up in the beautiful rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania. After graduating from Clarion University, Eula taught school until her marriage on February 6, 1942 to Allen B. Corbett, co-founder of Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Allen passed away on April 11, 1971. Eula was predeceased by all her younger siblings, Claude, Lloyd, Robert and Leon Summerville, Florence Davis, Jean MacMillan of Pennsylvania and also two precious Flint residents, Betty Jo Summerville and Donna L. Bodis. Eula is survived by her 3 children, Rose Corbett Gordon, Allen B. Corbett, Jr., G. Lloyd Corbett and also by her niece, Janie Bodis Kirby of Linden. Eula was an active golfer into her 80's and an active bridge player thoughout her life. Her principal interests, besides her family, were her church and her many wonderful Flint area friends. She will be remembered for her clarity of mind and her immaculate appearance maintained right up to the end. The Flint Journal Flint,MI December 10, 2005
