  • Obituary: Mavo Price, 88, passed away Thanksgiving night at her home in Brawley after a short illness. Mavo was born and raised on her family's farm near Boaz, Alabama. She met Wallace Price when he was in infantry training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Afer corresponding while he was overseas, they were married in Brawley in April of 1946 following his discharge from the Army. Mavo was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Brawley for 60 years, and touched many lives while serving as a Sunday School teacher. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed many of the "domestic arts" and crafts, particularly crochet, quilting and embroidery. Mavo is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Cindy of Brawley, and Robert and Mary of Aurora, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 30 at Riverview Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at Brawley First Baptist Church following the service.
