Dave was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dad was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and always looked forward to family gatherings at King's Rest. "The Cottage" always held a special place in his heart, as it was host to many celebrations and casual get-togethers with family, neighbours and friends. Dad loved to sing. A member of the Truro Barbershoppers in the early years, he continued his love of music through many community and church choirs, especially enjoying his time in the St. James Male Chorus in Truro. Dave was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Ryan); parents, Sidney B and Ethel (Johnstone) Cox; son, Larry; brother, Jim and sister, Geraldine Albertsen. Dave is survived by his children, Bruce (Erma), David (Shawn), and Wendy (Donald); grandchildren, Josh (Crystal), Morgan (Curtis), Allan (Corey), Jenny (Kyle), Alicia (Brandon) and Hillary (Tommy); great-grandchildren, Christiaan and Madison; sister-in-law, Edith Fraser and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Willow Lodge in Tatamagouche and East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash for the care and empathy shown to our Dad during his stay with them. A service honouring Dave will be held on Monday, September 25th at 1pm in Riverside United Church, Bass River. Reception to follow in Victoria Hall.
