It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Dan on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax, with the family by his side. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of Anna (McPhee) Rushton, Salt Springs and the late Shirl Rushton and Walter Fisher. Dan had worked at Harrison's Home Hardware in Pugwash for 14 years before moving to New Glasgow where he worked for Morgan Anderson Snow Plowing and the Abercrombie Golf Course. Besides his mother he is survived by his girlfriend, Jodi MacPherson; step-daughter, Shania, both of Stellarton; his children, Brent (Alison), Pugwash, Lily (John), New Glasgow, Elaina, Stellarton; and their mother, Dan's wife of 17 years, Treena Langille-Fisher, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Teegan and Rhea; brother, Alfred (Lisa), Amherst; sister, Leota, B.C.; brother by choice, Stan (Laura) Fisher, Trenton. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, March 26, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, all in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. Rev. Meggin King officiating. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
