  • Obituary: Marion J. Simons, 82, wife of the late Donald E. Simons, died Sept. 8, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 1, 1924, in Corinth, the daughter of Justin L. and Verus K. (Aitken) Chapman. Marion was a 1941 graduate of Hampden Academy and a 1942 graduate of Beals Business College. She was employed as an office worker at the shipyard in South Portland during World War II and later worked as a bookkeeper for Miller's Restaurant, Bangor, where she worked for many years. Marion enjoyed bowling and was a 35-year player in the WIBC Championship Tournaments. Surviving are two sisters, Elsie DeWitt of Hudson and Norma Hatch and her husband, Glen, of Kenduskeag; nieces and nephews, Kathy Bourbon and her husband, Tom, of The Villages, Fla., LeRoy DeWitt and his wife, Connie, of Hampden, Estelle Copeland of South Portland, Carroll DeWitt and his wife, Sherrie, of Henderson,Nev., Chester DeWitt of Hudson, Gary Rollins and his wife, Patti, of Kenduskeag, Allen Rollins and his wife, Shirley, of Exeter, Michael Rollins and his wife, Diane, of Corinth, Jeffrey Rollins and his wife, Renee, of Carmel, Barbara Pineo and her husband, Troy, of Corinth; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
