  • Obituary: Union County Advocate Morganfield,KY March 12, 2008 Louis Harold Alvey, 84, of Zepherhills, Fla., formerly of Morganfield, died Friday, March 7, 2008 in Zepherhills. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Everett and Mary F. Alvey, and three brothers, Robert Paul, William Gerald, and Francis 'Spanks' Alvey. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lelia 'Bunny' Alvey; one daughter, Janet Gagliano and husband Charles of Haslett, Mich.; three sons, Patrick Alvey and wife Alice of Bourbonnaise, Ill., Michael Alvey of Zepherhills, Fla., and James Alvey and wife Chris of Colchester, Conn.; one sister, Martha Mills of Madisonville; three brothers, Tom Alvey of Zepherhills, Fla., James Alvey of East Peoria, Ill., and Joe Alvey of Morganfield; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield with Fr. Terry Devine officiating. Friends may call at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and until service time on Friday. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. He was born May 12, 1923, in Union County, Ky., to Everett and Mary Alvey. They wintered the last 25 years in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane "Bunny"; his children, Janet (Charles) Gagliano of Haslett, Mich., Patrick (Alice) Alvey of Bourbonnais, Ill., Michael Alvey of Zephyrhills, and James (Chris) Alvey of Colchester, Conn.; 11 grand-children; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas (Kitty) Alvey of Zephyrhills, Joseph (Ruth) Alvey of Morganfield, Ky., J.D. Alvey of East Peoria, Ill., and Martha Mills, of Madisonville, Ky. There will be a visitation 4-6 p.m. Monday at the 54 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills. Funeral services and burial will take place at a later date in Morganfield, Ky.
