  • Obituary: The Columbian Vancouver,WA March 10,1999 A former district line superintendent for Pacific Corp., Charles Delmon Barchus died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in Camas. He was 94. Born Oct. 21, 1904, in Amboy, Mr. Barchus was a longtime resident of the Camas-Washougal area. A son, Richard, died in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Betty, at home; two sons, Virgil of Redding, Calif., and Duane of Kansas City; one sister, Irene Best of Washougal; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Barchus was a member of the Howard Masonic Lodge in Yreka, Calif., and the Shrine Ben Ali of Sacramento, Calif. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and horses. There will be no service. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1422 N.W. 85th St., Seattle, WA 98117-4236.
