Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of Sheila & Daniel Patterson and his birth father, Stein Koppernaes. Michael was a criminology student at Saint Mary's University. He really enjoyed studying criminology. He worked part time as a swing manager at McDonalds. Michael enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques. He was a sweet and amazing person and his younger siblings all looked up to him. Michael is survived by his financée, Kandis Amber Woods of 5 years. She was the love of his life. Besides his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Gabriela Patterson, (5 years old), brothers, Sean Koppernaes (25), Nicholas Zinck (19) and Angus Patterson (11); grandparents, Paula and Brian Roberts and Johan and Barbara Koppernaes, all of Bedford. Michael was predeceased by his great grandparents, Leo and Meta Miles of Prospect Bay and Kathleen Delores deVere Pery of Rockingham. Memorial service was held on Saturday, August 29th at 2:00 pm, at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Donations may be made to IWK or Pediatric Melanoma Research organizations. Michael and Kandis were to be married on August 29th, but unfortunately Michael passed away 3 days before the wedding. Michael left us way too soon but his spirit lives on in all of us.
