Born June 17, 1916, in Strattanville, she was the daughter of Edwin and Dora Clover Corbett. Mrs. Chapman was a 1934 graduated of Clarion Area High School. During her life she was an active member of various civic organizations including the Order of Eastern Star of Clarion and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion of Strattanville. She also had been a Girl Scout troop leader. Mrs. Chapman served for a time as president of the school board of Clarion-Limestone schools. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mrs. Chapman's hobbies were bowling and gardening and along with her husband, she was a founding member of NASCAR. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt. She was married March 17, 1937, to T. Walt Chapman, who died in May 1988. Surviving are two children, John Chapman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Janis McIntosh of Charles Town, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Eric Chapman of Coral Springs, Fla., Philip McIntosh of Charles Town, W.Va., Gregory McIntosh of Ashburn, Va., and Amanda McIntosh of Charles Town, W.Va.; and eight great-grandchildren; She also is survived by two sisters, Jean Carroll of Clarion and Grace Kisner of Vail, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and one sisters, Raymond Corbett, Allen Corbett, Georgia Hartzell, Gerald Corbett, Charles Corbett, L. Edwin Corbett and Paul Corbett. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
