Born September 12, 1927 to the late James "Edwin" and Rosella (Wooldridge) Birt, Elma and her late husband of 66 years, Garth, raised seven sons of whom they were very proud. Elma is survived by her sons; She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and by her 17 great-grandchildren. Elma is also survived by her brothers. Elma is also remembered by her special nieces as well as by many more nieces and nephews. Elma was predeceased by her sons Ivan and Gerry; brothers Richard (Rita), Lucas, Benny, and John (Hattie). Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday, January 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, January 21, from Calvary Church, 9 Capital Dr, Charlottetown at 2:00 p.m. Interment later in Mount Stewart People's Cemetery.
