  • Obituary: Lucas Edwin Birt entered the Life Eternal on February 15, 2011. He was born in Mt. Stewart, Prince Edward Island, Canada on March 27, 1925. He lived in Alpharetta, Ga and was a longtime member of Mt. Paran Central Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marjean Wood Birt; daughter, Heather Birt Graff (Sloane) and grandchildren, Trapper, Eli and Isabel Graff, all of Louisville, Ky. He is also survived by sisters Elma Birt of Charlottetown, PEI and Carol Olenik of Georgetown, Ontario and Mesa, Arizona and brothers Reverend Almon Birt of Greensburg, Pa and Clarence Birt of Charlottetown, PEI, and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Rosella and Edwin Birt and siblings Richard, Benjamin, John Arthur and Isabel Birt. He served during WWII in the Canadian Army as a sharpshooter. He loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He played a mean game of checkers. A visitation will be held at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell on Friday, February 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19 at Northside Chapel.
