Mr. Buchanan was a WW II Army Veteran. and served during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a machinist at the former Boston Gear Company in North Quincy for 43 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. George Bryant Post in Quincy. Charlie enjoyed music and ballroom dancing and was an avid fisherman. He was also a member of the Norwood senior Citizens group. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette M. (Poulin) Buchanan and the late Jean (Druker) Buchanan. Devoted father of Linda McVay and her husband Robert of Braintree. and the late Cheryl Buchanan. Beloved brother of Kenneth Buchanan of Mashpee, Wilbur Buchanan of Gilmanton, N.H. and the late Katherine Leone. Loving grandfather of Robbie McVay and his wife Erica and the late Melissa McVay. Visiting hour at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth Landing on Monday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 9:40 a.m. Reverend Dr. Gordon Postill will officiate.
