  • Obituary: Richard C. Sherwood, of the Sherwood-Fowler Printing Company, died suddenly from heart failure, Tuesday morning, at his residence. Mr. Sherwood was ill only for a day or two, and his death comes as a shock to his many friends in Calgary, where he was well and favorably known. He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Fowler Sherwood, a brother, H.H. Sherwood of Upham, New Brunswick, and a sister, Mrs. A. Warren Upham of Olds, Alberta. Mr. Sherwood came to Calgary from New Brunswick in 1907, and became manager of the Albertan job printing plant, where he remained until 1912, when he went into business with George Fowler. Mr. Sherwood was a vestryman of the pro-cathedral, was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and was prominent in all community movements. The funeral will take place at the pro-catherdral at 2p.m. Thursday.
